Barbara Cronin Hershberg
She is drawn to simple compositions, textures, handmade paper, found objects, and a limited color palette. She is guided by Asian influences. She creates assemblages, collages, mixed media and acrylic paintings. Having studied dance for many years, most recently tap dancing, movement is naturally important to her work. She would like the viewer to be content, without needing to find a clear image in the piece. The adjectives "dreamy" and "delicious" come to mind as she mixes her colors: golden butterscotch, the perfect red of a pepper, the green of an olive, the colors of luscious sunsets and houses in the Caribbean. All of it brings her joy.
Painting is a passion, and there is rarely a day that goes by that she isn’t working on something. Art has opened up a whole new world where she enjoys connecting with other artists. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at Gallery 113.
