Figure Drawing Workshop

The goal of this half day workshop is to offer to the participants the opportunity to practice and improve the liveliness and expression of their quick gestural drawings of the human form.
Focusing on short poses (mostly 30 seconds to 2 minutes), students will practice techniques and exercises to develop hand-eye coordination and learn strategies for gesture drawings (such as in which order to start and develop the drawing) and improve their ability to draw quick and expressive drawings.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels including beginners. Demos and hands-on critiques are an important part of the instruction.
iPhoneography and ART

You will create art using cell phone apps and programs to convert images into multi-layered montages, sketches, and abstractions, beyond your wildest imagination. We will print your art image on unique papers, and share techniques for hand embellishment, multi-media, and unique presentations.

Work from photos to identify values and large shapes in the landscape. Apply pastels using limited color, and emphasize texture to move away from realism. A short demo will be given. Limited to 5 attendees to allow for personal attention. All materials are provided. Suitable for beginners to more experienced pastellists.

This fun mixed media workshop we will be experimenting with the art of decollage (the opposite of collage). We will start by building up layers of collage and then will cut/tear away parts to uncover the lower layers a la Mark Bradford
