Tricia Evenson
After attending the College of Creative Studies at UCSB, I transferred to Art Center College of Design, and after six combined years of creative studies, I received a BFA, with honors, in Graphic Design. For over three decades, I served as Designer and Creative Director for many notable clients such as USC, UCLA, LACMA, The Getty Center, and The Tournament of Roses. After decades as a professional designer, in 2012, I moved away from design problem-solving to create personal works that energized me and fed my soul. I have continued my art education, exploration, and application as a fine artist.
Whether visually referencing the real world or the abstract complexities of life, most of my work is inspired by my love of nature, with its beckoning beauty and serenity as well as its hostility and fragility. Through the use of bold, gestural marks and shapes or more delicate layering of textures, I impart a visual language that conveys the vitality and the energies that stream through me. Beyond my own process, I aim to create work that speaks to the deeper mysteries and wonders of life, inspiring others to connect with their own sense of inner creativity and expression.
