Denise Carey is a designer with a passion for art. Her background as a graphic designer and interior designer are evidence that the design process is engraved on her soul. That process serves as her guiding light.

Every painting starts with a feeling of abandon. Then she sets to work problem solving to make sense of the chaos. She uses acrylic and mixed media to then create layers of structure and order with rectilinear, curvilinear and abstract shapes. The many layers draw the viewer into the depths of the painting and the complex images hidden there.

The idea that our lives are often turbulent adventures but we somehow manage to compose our own personal journey with time and contemplation is the basis for her compositions.
