ART CHALLENGE, Moderated by Tony Askew

THEME: “October – Octo (8)” We are celebrating October, and what a wonderful expansive theme. In the Julian and Gregorian calendars, October got its name from the Romans. It was initially the eighth month of the 10-month year. October is from the Latin octo, which means “eight”. The number “eight” is said to be a symbol of wealth, prosperity, peace, and fertility. October is seen as a highly lucky and prosperous “number” because of its strong association with abundance and prosperity. This is a fascinating theme and we are looking forward to your innovative interpretations.

CREATE: Turn off your brain, play, experiment with a new medium, or a twist on the style you have mastered. Depict your Word choice with any style, any interpretation of art: representational, contemporary, abstract, and any medium: painting, printmaking, collage, assemblage, photography, and sculpture. It is not necessary to bring the art framed, but if on paper, please clip or tape to a mat or board.
