Art is spiritual, a conversation with its maker. A soulful conversation can inspire and create life onto the canvas in limitless ways. One just chooses to see and be bold to explore.

I am a self-taught artist living in Santa Barbara. I started out as a realistic painter with oil about six years ago, along with pastel, acrylic and watercolor. Using a reference, I would transfer whatever I saw onto the canvas. Abstract art did not make sense to me initially and I attribute this to my structural Asian upbringing. I felt that everything had to be realistic to be understood. With continued learning and exposure to abstract art, abstract images began to appear in my mind constantly. Working with different mediums, textures, and organic or recycled materials, I learned to create nothing into something that no two people could interpret the same way. The process excites me because of the unknown. My art has evolved into freer expressions and has made me feel liberated.
