Shunryu Suzuki is a wonderful source of understanding the developing mind. He's touched so many people with his teachings and book Zen Mind, Beginners Mind. As an artist, this has been a path in my work, Shoshin, and the excitement of seeing things for the first time.

My background has been in the film and advertising industry in Canada. I worked as a producer of documentaries and industrial films, and in the advertising industry as a commercial producer. As a mixed media artist, I have the flexibility and latitude to tell a story in its own way as it unfolds. Photography for me has been a bridge to other mediums and styles. Abstraction is subjective and changes with our current culture. I consider my work abstract and of abstract quality. My Lumen Prints (alternative photography) are abstract in quality and my paintings are botanical and culturally abstract. I created an assemblage series (BOUND/Bound by Humanity) working with rusted metal, handmade paper, and found metal objects. The contrast in the material has been inspiring, guiding my weaving of strong intent and story.
