Abstract Art Collective Exhibition in support of Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation
Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Voice Gallery, located in La Cumbre Plaza at 121 S. Hope Avenue, Santa Barbara, where imagination knows no boundaries.
The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation (TBCF) advocates for families living in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties that have a child with cancer by providing financial, educational, and emotional support.
Juror: Armando Ramos is a multimedia artist who primarily works with clay and wood. His work is based on the stories of the characters he explores and how they represent a time that cannot be regained. Ramos initially studied ceramics at the Kansa City Art Institute, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He then completed his graduate studies in sculpture at Montana State University before moving to San Francisco, CA, to continue his studio practice. Armando is currently a Sculpture Professor at Santa Barbara City College.
Armando Ramos has been a recipient of grants, residencies, and fellowships from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, the Frey Foundation, the Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, Montana, the Vermont Studio Center, and the International Ceramic Workshop California, the State University of Long Beach. His work has been exhibited in many venues and museums throughout the US.
