ART CHALLENGE, Moderated by Tony Askew
With an added Special Event :
At 1:20pm following announcements, “The Art of Selling More Art”. This is a short presentation on basic sales techniques to help artists sell their artwork. The presentation will be given by John Carey, Denise’s husband, who has over 30 years of experience in professional sales and marketing. AAC is honored to host this special event for our members.
THEME: "LOOK AGAIN” - Look through your past work, and find a project or something you’ve created that could be elevated to another level or enhanced with newfound techniques….OR “LOOK AGAIN” and see what you are drawn to, and challenge yourself to experiment with a new medium or new direction. Let your creativity run rampant and challenge us with a unique VISION! When you LOOK, you focus your vision on something. The Old English word locian is the root of look, meaning “see, gaze, or spy”. Most people don’t LOOK and SEE. There is much to observe if one looks closely.
CREATE: Turn off your brain, play, experiment with a new medium, or a twist on the style you have mastered. Depict your Word choice with any style, any interpretation of art: representational, contemporary, abstract, and any medium: painting, printmaking, collage, assemblage, photography, and sculpture. It is not necessary to bring the art framed, but if on paper, please clip or tape to a mat or board.
FORMAT: Your art piece will be shown on an easel, and Tony and Joyce will lead the discussion and take comments from members. Each member participating will have approximately 3 to 4 minutes for presentation and discussion time.
NOTE: For health reasons, if you are not vaccinated, you MUST WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing.
