Susan Whisenand, contemporary artist, retired from her position as principal of El Camino School in the Goleta Union School District in 2005. Upon retirement, she returned to her life-long love of drawing and painting. Her favorite mediums are watercolor and mixed media that incorporate lots of texture. In addition to abstract pieces, Susan enjoys painting portraits of dogs, horses in motion and still life studies. She takes classes through the Center for Lifelong Learning. Susan attends classes at the studio of Ruth Ellen Hoag, Santa Barbara artist. She has taken workshops from Katherine Chang Liu, abstract artist, and Georgia Mansur, well-known Australian artist who teaches internationally.
