ABOUT SEE INTERNATIONAL
Since 1974, SEE International has worked to create a world where everyone has access to vision care, regardless of who they are, where they live, or their ability to pay. Entire communities are affected by preventable blindness, due to little more than circumstance.
Through the support of SEE’s partners and the dedication of its volunteer medical professionals, well over 3.6 million people have had their eyes screened, and nearly half a million people have had their sight restored.
Locally, SEE is the only nonprofit in Santa Barbara County that provides free comprehensive eyecare to uninsured individuals who otherwise may not have access to vision care. The program serves approximately 1,400 community members each year.
To make this extraordinary work both far-reaching and sustainable, SEE relies on the generosity of its donors.
SEE has created a network of in-kind medical suppliers, who donate most of the items that are used forthe sight-restoring clinics. The remainder of the cost— about $100 per surgery—is covered by generous individuals and foundations around the world.
